ABOUT ME
A casual fan of giraffes, I currently teach vocal music at Norris High School and Middle School south of Lincoln, NE.
I hold a degree in Music Education from UNL and a Master’s degree in Education: Curriculum and Instruction from NWMSU. Originally from Freeman, SD, I began taking piano lessons at the age of six and grew up in a musical family, which provided me with many musical opportunities, including participation in community theater and honor ensembles.
I primarily arrange and compose for choral and a cappella ensembles, and I’m excited to expand my expertise into other areas. I also stay active in community theater, contributing primarily as a music director and arranger. When I’m not teaching or arranging music, I enjoy watching movies, listening to podcasts, exploring microbreweries, and spending time with friends.
I grew up in Freeman, SD, and began taking piano lessons at the age of six. I was fortunate to be raised in a musical family in a musical town, which resulted in many musical opportunities, including participation in community theater, as well in various honor ensembles.
After I enrolled in UNL’s Glenn Korff School of Music, I began arranging for multiple ensembles as well as dabbling in composition. While I primarily arrange and compose for choral and a cappella ensembles, I look forward to branching out and expanding my expertise. I also stay active with community theater, participating in shows at Pinewood Performing Arts as well as The Nebraska Communities Playhouse in Hickman.
When I’m not teaching or sitting at my computer entering notes into Finale® (RIP), I enjoy watching movies, listening to podcasts, exploring micro-breweries, and spending time with friends.
